Music Lessons

Saxophone · Flute · Clarinet · Piano · Music Theory

Online & In Person · All Ages & Abilities · Robertsbridge, East Sussex

Learning an instrument should feel rewarding, not frustrating. Whether you're a complete beginner, a nervous returner, or a student working towards grades or GCSEs, I'll meet you exactly where you are and help you make real, enjoyable progress.

I teach from my home in Robertsbridge and online — and I've been doing this long enough to know that every learner is different. Lessons are structured enough to keep you moving forward, and flexible enough to stay enjoyable.

Who I Teach

Younger Beginners

Patient, encouraging lessons that build confidence from the very first note. I work with children from primary age upwards, focusing on good foundations — reading music properly, developing rhythm and coordination, and playing pieces they're actually proud of.

Secondary Students & GCSE Support

I work with students preparing for graded exams and GCSE Music, helping them build stronger technique, clearer theory knowledge, and more confident performances. If theory feels confusing or patchy, we'll sort that out properly.

Adult Learners

It's never too late. Many of my adult students come to me having always wanted to play, or returning after years away. Lessons are relaxed, judgement-free, and paced entirely around you. You'll play music you actually enjoy from early on.

What I Teach

  • Saxophone — all styles and levels
  • Flute — classical through to contemporary
  • Clarinet
  • Piano
  • Music theory — beginner through to Grade 5
  • Recorder (primary school age)

Online or In Person?

In Person — Robertsbridge, East Sussex

Face-to-face lessons from my home studio. Particularly good for younger learners and beginners who benefit from hands-on guidance.

Online

I've been teaching online for over five years and have taken students successfully to Grade 8 level. Online lessons are interactive, structured, and surprisingly effective — and they fit around busy lives. First lesson includes a free 15-minute trial.

A Bit About Me

I'm an active professional performer as well as a teacher — I perform regularly on saxophone and flute, direct ensembles, and work with musicians of all ages. That means lessons aren't just about passing exams. I teach music the way musicians actually use it.
