Summer Wind Band Course
Flimwell Village Hall, East Sussex · 4–6 August 2026
A three-day summer music course for woodwind and brass players, focused on the joy of playing together. Ensemble skills, confidence, teamwork — and a lot of fun.
Dates: Tuesday 4 – Thursday 6 August 2026 Times: 10:00am – 12:30pm each day Venue: Flimwell Village Hall, East Sussex Cost: £90 per participant Places: Limited to approximately 12 students
Who Is It For?
This course is ideal for woodwind and brass players — flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet and more — at roughly Grade 1–4 standard. Mixed ability is absolutely fine; parts are flexible and every player will find their place in the ensemble.
If you enjoy playing your instrument but haven't had much experience making music with others, this is a brilliant place to start.
What Will They Do?
Over the three mornings, participants will take part in structured wind band rehearsals, work in ensemble groups with melody, harmony and rhythm parts, and develop their listening, rhythm and ensemble skills. The emphasis throughout is on confidence, teamwork, and genuinely enjoying the music.
End of Course Performance
On the final morning, there'll be a short informal performance for family members — a chance for students to share what they've been working on and feel genuinely proud of what they've achieved in just three days.
